Arkham Asylum: A Complete Review
So alright, let's get started.
First thing you notice about Batman: Arkham Asylum is that the graphics are mind blowing. So in case you are so numb that you don't even know what this game looks like, here it is.
And a piece if advice, if you see this with a reasonable price tag on it, DO NOT HESITATE TO GRAB IT OFF THE SHELF! You guys know I normally wouldn't mind playing a pirated version, but for this, I'll make an exception, and I shall explain why in a bit.
So from the looks of it you might think, hmm, yeah, so this is a Batman game with a nicely designed poster, so what? Well, the amazing truth is, the poster is not far from the actual in-game graphics.
I'm not going to spoil you with details of the story, but basically the general story is that the Joker was arrested by Batman and sent to Arkham Asylum. And as predicted, the Joker was caught for a reason, much like what we see in the movie The Dark Knight. With some cleverly executed plans, the Joker and a bunch of Batman's famous villains took over Arkham Asylum, and your mission is to regain control.
The good points are, this game has a lot of twists and turns, meaning many hours of gameplay, and, the story is cleverly woven so that many of the villains were involved, including Mr. Zsasz, Scarecrow, Bane, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy, and of course, the Joker. For most parts, you have to act and think like Batman, constantly finding the stealthiest methods to take down your enemies because they are armed, and you're just a man in tights, jumping around and throwing batarangs at enemies.
You get many gadgets as you go along, too. But when I say many gadgets, what I mean is many types of batarangs. There are regular batarangs, sonic batarangs, and my personal favourite, the remote-control batarang! Yup, you aim and throw, then maneuver it to hit as many targets as you can. Welcome to the PSP generation! I bet even Adam West didn't have so much fun being Batman.
Besides that you also get the batclaw, and a jamming device to destroy electronic locks all over the asylum, and explosive gel to blow up holes in walls. Very cool stuff here!
So anyways, seriously, even if you're not interested, go download the demo and try it out. It's sad there's no multiplayer mode, because clearly there is only one batman. There's the challenge mode where you get to replay certain scenes in the game, with more challenging objectives. There are also fighting stages where you have to reach a certain number of points to win. Very very nice. I can spend the whole night trying to beat my previous scores.
So there you go. If it's cheap enough, like around RM60-RM80, I'd buy the original version. The reason is simple. It has replay value. Played the normal mode? Go on to the hard one! There's always something new in this game. Trust me on that.
Gotta get back to work now before my boss fires me. Bye!

Happy Birdday Kong!
But well let's look down memory lane and see some of his b'days in the past/future. Here's when he was 1 year old.
This was probably what he had on his 18th b'day. To celerate his coming to age this was what the cake looked like. And I think that's the best cake he ever had.
When the inevitable happens, the right way to celebrate his b'day for him will be like this:

Old Toys
Yeah, yeah, you guys who haven't seen the likes of it might say I'm old or whatever. Anyways, make fun all you want, but this is one badass robot, I tell you.
Star Sabre is the leader of the Autobots in the Transformers Victory Series (well, that kinda gives you a hint, no? Victory... A word that Japanese like to use in their anime, e.g. Transformers Victory... Street Fighter Victoy...). Also, looking at the choice of weaponry, I'd say it's Japanese. Only the Japs would think swords are better than guns. And they like to let their characters use both at the same time. Very obvious.
(Don't you just love the way they pronounce the word "transform"? Like its the end of the world and if he doesn't transform there won't be a second chance already)
Anyways, the special thing about this guy is, it has 3 main parts:
1. A small bot (don't know what his name is, or even if he's a "he")
2. A small plane, which can be attached to a bigass ass to become a bigass plane
3. The bigass "ass"
OK, the coolest part is, small bot comes out of small plane, small plane transforms into medium guy (named Saber, if not mistaken), then small bot gets into medium guy's empty chest, forms the head, so medium bot is formed.
So for some idiotic and only comprehended by the Japanese reason, the bigass ass transforms into a big body, so that medium bot fits into its chest and together they form a big bot, after the medium guy performs some crazy gymnastics with his leg, obviously. So then the big helmet flips forward, big bot is formed. So idiotic part is, if it can be so big, why does it need to be medium and small in the 1st place?
So here you go.
This toy is obviously a classic, even though it really looks very old and not flexible if you compare to the new Transformers Animated (which I've been watching a lot lately... OMG I must be becoming an OTAKU) figures, which are more dynamic and much more appealing.
I remember I used to go to my hometown's Parkson every week to look at that Star Sabre toy. I had always wanted it when I was small, and too bad my dad wasn't too wealthy that time so I only had one transformers toy in my whole life, and it wasn't Star Saber. I went and look at it every week till the day the local Parkson went bust. T_T
I sort of still remember it costed some RM130 or so. Guess how much it costs now on ebay? 10 times that price. 10!!! Thanks to Otakus, I now learnt that besides properties, toys would increase in price too!
